Overview

e2c’s SmartConnect (SC) range of products combines e2c’s Smart Hub technology with the latest high-performance embedded ARM computing processors.  Packed with the power of iSocket running natively on embedded Linux, the SmartConnect range eliminates the need for third party computing platforms, providing a fully integrated embedded computing module with extensive peripheral interfaces.

By eliminating the need for third party computing platforms, e2c’s SC series allow system designers to dramatically reduce cost and improve system reliability. From headless systems to multi-screen support, the SmartConnect ARM series is optimised for payment solutions in retail, kiosk, gaming and banking as well as other generic IoT applications.

All SmartConnect products are powered by our powerful iSocket middleware, providing both local device/peripheral management and remote management services within broader monitoring and reporting systems.

iSocket middleware provides a powerful layer for device communication and management, supporting all industry standard payment peripherals. With broad OS support for Windows and Linux variants. e2c’s Payment Device Manager (PDM) is built on iSocket and is available in Pro and standard versions. 

SC100 Smart Connect is a powerful embedded compute module powered by single core i.MX6 processor. Including a full embedded Linux OS, this runs iSocket middleware to provide control of the extensive IO and any connected peripheral device.  Applications can run either on the SC100 or any network connected client.

SC200 combines e2c’s smart IO control technology with a powerful 32 bit dual core ARM processor (NXP i.MX6) to provide a standalone solution combining an eLinux operating system with a extensive IO and connectivity interfaces. Combining display function and the smart hub into one products provides an cost-saving, all-in-one solution for many vertical applications.

SC400 combines e2c’s smart IO control technology with a powerful 32 bit Quad core ARM processor (NXP i.MX6) to provide a standalone solution combining an eLinux operating system with a extensive IO, connectivity interfaces and dual screen display. This example shows SC100 used in a payment kiosk application.  The solution includes the following peripherals:

JCM UBA Bill validator using ID003 on RS2323

MEI CF7000 series coin changer using MDB 

CF7000 coin changer on MDB bus

Character display RS232

Fujitsu F53 2 drawer note dispenser

DIP insert smart card reader

Keypad via GPIO (automatic scanning)

This example illustrates how it is possible to connect best of breed devices into a solution. With iSocket running native on the SC100, the Application can reside remotely and communicate with iSocket over LAN or WiFi using socket or web sockets API.
